February 9, 2014

Dear TLA Families, Volunteers and Donors,

As we kick off another exiting Recreation Lacrosse season, we want to update you on how we are using the money raised through our Bull Roast and other fund raising events.  We are grateful for all your support.  Our families, volunteers and donor partners have been instrumental in allowing TLA to provide our youth lacrosse players the opportunity to participate in the “fastest game on two feet” in accordance with our mission statement.

Mission Statement:  The Talbot Lacrosse Association's (TLA) mission is to provide a safe and fun environment in which children will learn athletic skills, and to promote a culture of fairness, respect, responsibility and commitment through the game of lacrosse.

Focusing on providing a safe and fun environment, last year TLA purchased 50 new helmets which are available for those families/kids that do not have their own equipment.  In addition to last year’s helmet purchase, this year TLA is purchasing new shoulder pads, arm pads and gloves to continue the replacement of older protective gear.  This will allow our participants to have economical access to updated protective equipment if they need it.

In addition to the new protective equipment, the TLA Board approved the purchase of new uniforms for both boys and girls for the 2014 season.   You will notice some improvements with more up to date uniform styles for both boys and girls.  We will have reversible jerseys for both boys and girls and the boy’s uniforms will now include shorts.  Our players will look great this year.

We have been able to accomplish all of this while maintaining one of the lowest registration fees on the Shore!

We want to take this opportunity to again thank all those families, donors and volunteers that have contributed so much to the Talbot Lacrosse Association.  Your efforts in contributing time and money have been instrumental in providing a wonderful opportunity for our kids to experience the great game of lacrosse.
We look forward to your continued support and an exciting 2014 lacrosse season beginning March 1st!
Sincerely,

The TLA Board of Directors
